- Remove the spike protector and insert the spike fully into the IV container. Open the air vent cap.
- Open the top roller clamp and fill the burette chamber to approximately 30mL. Close the clamp and adjust the drip chamber fluid level to half full.
- Open the bottom roller clamp to expel air bubbles, then close the clamp.
- Fill the burette chamber to the desired level and close the clamp.
- Perform venipuncture.
- Open the bottom clamp and regulate the flow using the roller.
- Add medication through the injection site as needed.
